DEV status and features

Hello,
it will be my last big phpBB programming project for the next years. Since several years I'm planning to program it. First I've been waiting for the phpBB3 Olympus Gold Release. But last 13 months I've done four other MODs. Two of them (ADAP and MNAO) are quite big. And I'm not a professional programmer. So it was hard for me and the phpbb.com MOD team. But I've learned a lot last years.

So, what means Association Zoological Manager Add On?
The MOD is designed for use on websites which are dedicated to groups of animals or plants. They can be private websites or websites of clubs, associations and univeristies.

There are two category systems:

• 1. species database with flexible systematic order system
• 2. type of content and article

I'm planning to realize following modules or applications:

• 1. species database: scientic names, trivial names, synonyms, location and collection information including collection database, species information, ...
• 2. keepers list: Registered users can select several species from the species database to build their own keepers list entry. The keepers list can be browsed or searched by species and zipcode.
• 3. articles or logs: Registered users or group members are allowed to write articles or logs like personal pages. The articles have to be linked both to species database entries and type of content - e.g. keeping log, breeding log or species information.
• 4. literature database: Registered users or group members can add entries for articles and books to the database.
• 5. animal classifieds: Registeres users or group members can offer their animals or plants. Interested people are contacting them per PM. So it will be anonymous as much as possible.
• 6. link database using both of the category systems

I want to use the phpBB permission system as much as possible. But for the logs I will use a own table and own functions.

For the articles I want to connect one photo gallery MOD. At least it will support the standard phpBB3 add image feature.

I will begin programming in June or July 2009. In 2009 I want to finish at least the species database and the keepers list. I hope to finish the Add On in 2010.

Hello,
next six months and Advanced Block MOD, some ADAP releases and another Multiple Newsletters Add On release later now I will start programming next days or weeks.

The frist steps will be done in the ACP. So I will publish the dev board URL and the first screenshots not before October 2009.
